The Beautiful Unseen

Pastor Jamie George - God is often shaping our lives in ways we don't understand. He leads us into the sometimes awkward experience of giving and receiving as a way of keeping us humble and reminding us we are dependent creatures.

REVIEW FROM LAST WEEK:

Last week our practice was to trust Jesus for HIS part in making us well.

PRACTICE:
Breathe in: You are God
Breathe out:  I trust you

How did the question, “Do you want to be well?” affect you? How did it challenge/encourage you to trust Jesus?

THIS WEEK:  Mysterious Wonder: The Beautiful Unseen

Read John 6 together as a Village. (Village Guides can either read or appoint someone to read or have everyone read ahead before they come...whatever seems best for your Village)

DISCUSSION:

What do we learn about Jesus from this passage?
What do we see Him accomplishing in each of these miracles?

Read Judges 6:36-40.

It’s clear God desires to reveal His presence and power to us through signs, wonders and miracles. Scripture shows us God desires to give us what we ask for (Psalm 37:4, John 15:7, James 15:7) However, if we are not careful, we may find ourselves chasing His goods rather than enjoying His grace and the magnificent things He wants to show us in the process.

Has there ever been a time when you just needed God to show you something tangible?

Was it to meet a need or a big dream? How did that go?

What did you learn about God in that process?

What needs do you currently have in which you are waiting for God to show up with something?

Take time to pray for one another that our kind and gracious God will meet you in your needy place.

Breathe in: You are God
Breathe out: You are Good

THIS WEEK’S PRACTICE:

This week, as you feel the weight of your longings:

Breathe in: You are God
Breathe out: You are good
